Sutter Buttes Trek

April 21, 2012

sutterbuttes.jpgThe Sutter Buttes were created by volcanic activity about 1.4 million years ago. Revered by the indigenous peoples of the area, the Buttes figure prominently in many of their creation stories. Public access to the Sutter Buttes is limited as all of the land is privately held by ranchers and farmers. The Middle Mountain Foundation works with the owners to preserve the Buttes with land conservation initiatives and by leading naturalist hikes on the private properties.

Join the Land Trust as we partner with the Middle Mountain Foundation for a day of discovery exploring "the smallest mountain range in the world."

The Sutter Buttes treks are very popular and fill up quickly so be sure to register now and reserve your spot!
